A totalitarian socirty led by Big Bother which censors everyone's behavior and thoughts. The Party controls the people by feeding them lies and narrowing there imaginations through brutaly limiting human pursuit and sexual passion. If anyone is to under mind their authority, Big Brother will seek to torture and change their minds to obey the Pary's beliefs. Such as; Winston who was tricked by O'Brien to join brotherhood and overthrow the party but then soon found out and now Julia and him are in prison beaten day by day untill they are persuaded that the party is the right way and to never be a threat again.
The social classes in Oceania are broken into the inner party, the outer party, and the proles. Winston Smith was a member of the outer party which consisted of general employees working within the government. They wore blue overalls and were under heavy surveillance by the thought police. Out of all the classes, the outer party were perhaps the most monitored and scrutinized by Big Brother. In a social hierarchy, the outer class would be in the middle. The proles were the general citizens residing outside Big Brothers attention. They are the closest thing to a normal life however, they are deemed as the lowest class and called animals by Big Brother but Winston discovers the proles have more humanity in them because of their human instinct to feel empathy and loyalties to loved ones only. The proles are generally poor but lead a greater quality life than the party. The inner party is the social class most intimate with Big Brother and therefore, granted with good food and most importantly, privacy. They are the highest social class and as a result of their intimacy with Big Brother, they carry knowledge about the mysterious government no one else knows.

The inner party is the group that is the closest to big brother which is why they get special privilages. The proles are the normal people who are not conencted with big brother, they live what we would consider a normal life.

Proles can have no thoughts in their mind, and have no rights but to follow orders. Outer Party are monitoring the proles and work on the Hate Week. Winston is part of the outer party. He would be monitored by the Big Brother, watching his every move. The inner party had got it good, because they are on top of the pyramid, and no one can stop them. They are well served, well dressed and well paid. Inner party makes up the laws and rules and slogans for the outer party and proles.

The inner party shares all the information that is virtually unknown to anyone outside of its class. The are the inside men to big brother, they get all the goods. If this was ShowCase, they'd be the "GodFather".
